How To Recite Your Morning Prayer

How To Recite Our Morning Prayer Axel Vaux Verdi's Blog

In this post you will learn How To Recite Your Morning Prayer. Start by making the sign of the Cross saying: “In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, Amen”. Then recite the following prayer:

Let’s get into God’s presence and worship him

Most Holy and most august Trinity, only God in three persons, I believe that you are here present. I adore you with the sentiments of the deepest humility, and I pay you with all my heart the homage due to your Majesty.

Act of Faith

O My God! I firmly believe that Thou art one God in three divine Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost; I believe that Thy divine Son became man, and died for our sins, and that He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because Thou hast revealed them, Who canst neither deceive nor be deceived.

Act of Hope

O My God! relying on Thy infinite goodness and promises, I hope to obtain pardon of my sins, the help of Thy grace, and life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer.

Act of Charity

O My God! I love Thee above all things, with my whole heart and soul, because Thou art all good and worthy of all love. I love my neighbor as myself for love of Thee. I forgive all who have injured me and ask pardon of all I have injured.

Let us thank God for the graces He has given us and offer us to Him

My God, I thank you very humbly for all the graces you have given me so far. It is still by an effect of your goodness that I see this day; so I want to use it only to serve you. I devote to it all thoughts, words, actions, and sorrows. Bless them, O Lord, that there be none that is animated by your love, and that does not tend to your greater glory.

Let us form the resolution to avoid sin and to practice virtue

Adorable Jesus, divine model of perfection to which we must aspire, I will apply myself as much as I can, to make myself like You: gentle, humble, obedient, chaste, zealous, patient and resigned as You are; and I will do my best, not to fall back now, into the mistakes I make so often, and which I sincerely wish to correct.

Let us ask God for the graces we need
My God, you know my weaknesses. I can not do anything without the help of Your grace. Do not deny it, my God, give it to my needs; give me enough strength to avoid all the evil that You defend, to practice all the good that You expect from me, and to patiently suffer all the pains You decide to send me.

Our Father

Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. Amen

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with Thee. Blessed art Thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

The Apostles Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; He descended into hell; on the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Let’s invoke the Blessed Virgin, Saint Joseph, Our good Angel and our Patron Saint

Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, my Mother and my Patroness, I put myself under your protection and I put all my trust in your mercy. Be, o Mother of goodness, my refuge in my needs, my consolation in my troubles and my advocate with your adorable Son, today, every day of my life and especially at the hour of my death.

Most holy patriarch, Saint Joseph, by this loving solicitude with which you have taken care of Jesus and Mary, deign to watch over our existence until the last sigh.
